The Region
Close the laptop.
Step outside.
Heavens Orchard sits at the edge of some of the most walkable terrain in the Himalayas. A waterfall, a river, a living village, and ancient cedar forests — all within reach after the workday ends.
What's Within Reach
Six places. One short walk to most of them.
- At Door Cedar forest trails
- 5 Min Old Manali village
- 10 Min Beas River
- 15 Min The waterfall

"Walking times from the property gate. Manali weather may have opinions."
Worth Leaving the Desk For
Where guests actually go.
01 · River
Beas River
"Cold, fast, and loud in the mornings."
The riverbank walk is flat and calming — perfect for clearing your head before the first meeting of the day. Ten minutes from the property gate. Someone painted a sun on one of the rocks. Nobody knows who.
02 · Trek
The Waterfall
A short pine-trail walk from the property leads to a natural waterfall. Best in the morning before the sun clears the ridge. Bring a flask of chai and give yourself an hour. The trail is easy enough for flip-flops, quiet enough to think in.
03 · Village
"Slate-roofed houses, apple orchards, the smell of woodsmoke from bakeries that have been there longer than the road. Five minutes down the path. The kind of place that makes you stay longer than you planned."
Old Manali Village · 5 Min Walk · Cafés, Bakeries, A Small Market
04 · Trek
Cedar Forest Trails
Deodar cedar trails start right at the property boundary. Go as far as you like — a 20-minute loop or a half-day ridge walk. The smell alone is worth it.
05 · Heritage
Jamadagni Rishi Site
An ancient site in the cedar forest, associated with the sage Jamadagni. Quiet, stone, old. The kind of place that puts a deadline in perspective.
"2-hour return. We'll arrange a local guide if you want one."
06 · Evening
Bonfire Nights
Pine logs, a clear sky, and the same Milky Way you saw in the photo. Most guests say the bonfire evenings are when the trip actually begins.
What a Saturday Looks Like
A day off, roughly.
"Not a schedule. Just how most weekends seem to go."
- 09:00 Coffee on the terrace. The mountain takes its time waking up.
- 10:30 Walk down to Old Manali for breakfast at a café.
- 12:30 Up the waterfall trail. An hour each way if you take it slow.
- 14:00 Lunch from a roadside dhaba. Or back at the kitchen.
- 16:00 Read. Nap. Watch clouds. Pick one.
- 19:00 Dinner.
- 21:00 Bonfire if the sky is clear.
- 23:00 Sleep finds you faster up here.
When You Come Matters
Four seasons, four different mountains.
Spring
Mar – May
Apple blossoms, clear days, the rivers loud with snowmelt. Best month for the waterfall walk.
Summer
Jun – Early Jul
Warm afternoons, cool nights. Long walking hours, light until 8pm.
Monsoon
Mid-Jul – Sep
Rain. Cloud rolling through the valley. Indoor work, hot food, books. Quieter and cheaper.
Winter
Nov – Feb
Snow on the ridges. Wood stoves on. Fewer guests. The Milky Way photo on the homepage is from January.
